Roger Hammond
Founder and President of Hammond Insurance Services
 
Roger is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and the Aetna Casualty Personal and Commercial Lines Institute.  He was an Underwriter for Aetna from 1970 – 1976, and then came to Staunton with a local agency. In 1983 he co-founded Hammond & Foster Insurance in Staunton and changed the name to Hammond Insurance Services in 2007.

Tammy Whetzel
Office Manager and Personal Lines Sales
 
Tammy is the Operations Manager of the Staunton office branch and has over 29 years of experience in the insurance industry.  Tammy is a Certified Professional Insurance Woman and an Accredited Customer Service Representative.   She is licensed in Property and Casualty as well as Life and Health.

Steve Jackson
Producer
 
Steve is a graduate of William and Mary with a Bachelors Degree in Math and a Joint Degree in Law.  Steve has served over 24 years in the commercial sector obtaining cost effective insurance contracts for his past employers.  Steve specializes in Group, Health, Life, Long Term Care and Disability insurance policies, along with Annuities.

Dain Hammond
President of Hammond Insurance Agency
 
Dain served in the United States Army before graduating from Longwood University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He has also completed studies at the National Alliance School for Insurance Education and Research and the Central Insurance Companies Management Training Program, and is currently pursing his Certified Builders Insurance Agent designation.
 
Dain has been with Hammond Insurance Services since 2000, when he opened the Harrisonburg branch. He specializes in food service and construction risk management.

Jean is a graduate of James Madison University with Bachelors Degrees in Finance and Marketing. Jean has over 20 years of experience in accounting within the Commercial Real Estate and Financial Market sectors. After spending much of her career working in the Washington DC market, Jean returned to Harrisonburg and has been with Hammond Insurance since 2007.

Umar joined our agency in 2008 as a Commercial Lines Producer. Prior to that, he worked in the restaurant industry for 16 years. After serving his country for four years in the United States Marine Corps, Umar attended James Madison University. Umar’s professional insurance education includes completing the Allied University Sales program and completing The National Alliance School for Producer Development which is a nationally recognized program in insurance excellence. He is currently working on obtaining his Certified Builders Insurance Agent (CBIA) designation. He has been a resident of the valley for over 10 years and specializes in insuring restaurants and contractors.
